Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)
Start your EMS training today, homestudy & 13 classroom days. Graduates can work as Firefighters, EMS personnel and Advanced First Aid Attendants (if they meet the WH&S requirements in their area). ACP registration is recommended.

Material covered in this course:

Start your EMR program today. Register on-line and one of our staff will contact you to complete the registration and assign you an instructor. There is a $150.00 registration fee. You will then be sent textbooks and assigned and instructor available to assist you with your home study and assignments prior to coming to the classroom. The classroom dates are weekdays 0800-1800. The entire program is 160hrs plus an 8 hr driving course and an 8-16 hr practicum. The deadline for ACP exam application is listed on  www.collegeofparamedics.org .Students that are unable to complete the home study portion on time, before the classroom dates, may be moved to the next classroom date and will have additional material to complete and there may be additional fees due to changes in the program that are currently under review.

VOCATION: Professional registration with ACP is required to work as an EMR.

Note: This course has no refund after registration is complete. Exceptions are made for registrants that fall under under Alberta Innovation and Advanced Education Contracts and the terms will follow the Alberta Regulation 341/2003, Private Vocational Training Act, Private Vocational Training Regulation

Prerequisites required to take this course:
1. Must be at least 18 years of age prior to admission.

2. Valid Class 5 driver's license.

3. Results and consideration of a criminal record search. The Alberta College of Paramedics will review results prior to licensing, please contact them for further questions.

Documentation must be provided on the first day of course commencement.
